Strike Authorization Vote

Soon your bargaining committee will be asking you to cast a “YES” Strike Authorization Vote.

Voting “YES” does not mean that there will automatically be a strike.  A strike authorization is a tool that gives our bargaining committee more leverage in negotiations.  Striking is a last resort and the bargaining committee would only recommend striking if it believed that it was the only way to achieve a fair deal.

Remember in the last few weeks Daimler and DTNA have released reports about the billions of dollars (14.7 billion euros) in profit in 2017, twice as much as they made in 2016.  DTNA also announced that in 2017 we achieved a NAFTA Class 6 – 8 market share of 39.8%.  Not only a record for DTNA, it is the highest market share ever gained by an OEM in North America.

A strong “YES” Strike Authorization Vote shows the company that we are behind our bargaining committee 100% and that we will not settle for anything less than a fair contract.
